USPTA President Gary Trost is the director of tennis at Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, in Nichols Hills, Oklahoma and is a USPTA Master Professional. He has been a certified USPTA professional for 25 years and has served as a USPTA Missouri Valley board member since 1997, including USPTA Missouri Valley president from 2006-2010. He has been a member of the USPTA national board since 2011 and in 2006 he was honored as the George Bacso National Tester of the Year and is a five-time Missouri Valley Pro of the Year.
Gary played on the Australian Schoolboys Tour USA in 1980 and was named the MVP. He also was the Midwestern City Conference Champion in 1982 and 1983, and Oklahoma State Open Champion in 1983, 1984 and 1985. Trost’s greatest accomplishment in tennis involved one of his students, Brooks Altschuler. He played at a non-scholarship school, Boston College, and won a Big East singles championship in 1994. He was the only non-Miami University player to win one at that tournament.
