Conference housing
It has been brought to our attention that someone is contacting past conference attendees, claiming to represent USPTA and offering assistance with hotel bookings. One number used is 800-217-4402 and is associated with a company called Exhibitors Housing Services ( To be clear, this company and any others are NOT IN ANY WAY AFFILIATED WITH USPTA and are not authorized to use our name or trademark in any solicitations. Please be aware of the following known scams:

  • A phone call from someone offering to book your hotel room or offer you a "special discounted conference rate" or "save you $30.00 off your room rate."
  • An email from with the subject line "Reservations Team has sent you the document Contract_For_Hotel_Reservation_Services.pdf to sign."
  • A phone call from someone asking to speak to the "trade show coordinator or the person who is handling the USPTA Buying Show that your company is attending in September."
  • An email claiming to be from USPTA's Exhibitor Department, but the email is not from a email address.

You should only make your hotel reservations using the official USPTA passkey,, or the short link, If you register for a room at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in any other way, we cannot guarantee the negotiated lower room rate or availability.

Airline reservations

USPTA board member Diane Selke reports that Southwest Airlines is currently offering good rates to New Orleans. Remember, the earlier you book, the lower the price (usually). Here are some more tips on booking affordable airfare.

Scam alert

Scam alertWe brought this scam to your attention on April 30. It is still an active scam.

The scenario is that someone will call and say they have a daughter, son, student, etc., who would like to take a series of tennis lessons over a period of weeks. They will agree to your terms and send a check or money order for two or three times the amount that was discussed. They will then contact you later and tell you that they sent the wrong amount, or that their ex-spouse sent the lesson money and alimony in the same check, or some other story and then ask you to cash it and send them the difference. At that point, you will find out that it was a bad check or fake money order. If you cash or deposit the check, you will have to pay it back and you will be out the money that you returned to the customer.

They may attempt to contact you via email, phone call or text. If you are approached in this manner, take the check and the email chain to the police.
