USPTA Foundation

The USPTA Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable foundation. Donations will be devoted to programs that help economically disadvantaged people learn tennis.

Donations to the USPTA Foundation are tax exempt and accepted each year when USPTA members are invoiced for their annual dues. Additional donations may be made by check, made out to USPTA Foundation, and mailed to USPTA at 3535 Briarpark Drive, Suite 202, Houston, TX 77042. A transfer of appreciated securities (stocks, etc.) to the Foundation brokerage account is an additional way to give. Consult your financial adviser for more information regarding these types of transactions. Contributions of this kind have positive tax benefits.

Apply for a grant

The USPTA Foundation awards grants to programs that help economically disadvantaged people learn tennis. To qualify for a USPTA Foundation grant, your organization must:

  1. Provide tennis programs for underserved people/population OR
  2. Provide tennis programs for individuals with disabilities (all ages) with a life skills component for Adaptive Tennis programs AND
  3. Be a USPTA member in good standing and/or have a USPTA member on staff (click here to join)
  4. Submit an online application.

Before you begin: Gather all needed information and documents prior to completing and submitting your application. The following documents should be in a digital format. You will need to attach them to this application. Grant applications will NOT be considered if the questions have not been answered completely with detail and/or the application submitted without ALL required documents uploaded at the time of the application submission.

  • IRS form 990 (if applicable)
  • IRS determination letter (if you are a foundation)
  • Project budget (all potential income and projected expenses)
  • Most recent annual report (if applicable)
  • Current, relevant articles, testimonials or reviews about the organization's programs.
  • Two photos depicting your current program or a past program that represents your overall mission.

You will also be asked how you specifically plan to use the Foundation money. Please provide details of the project and how the program evaluates success. Include what the goals are, population served, number of people impacted, number of actual sessions, time frame of the program, background on the program, prior success or examples of others who have had success with a similar plan, and introspective assessment of the program.

  • Number of individuals reached and benefited
  • Start up or existing
  • Integrity
  • USPTA pro(s) involved (required)
  • Beneficiaries of funding-pros, administrators or players
  • Organizational budget (profit & loss) and project budget (how funding would specifically be used).
  • Individuals served and accessibility-fee or free, open to the public
  • Website-updated and accurate, program information included
  • IRS/990 review (where applicable)
  • Sustainability
  • Previous funding

Gift Recognition Ladder

Platinum Donor = $2500 and above

Gold Donor = $1000-$2499

Silver Donor = $500 - $999

Bronze Donor = $250 - $499

Patron = $249 or below

Find-a-Cure Rx Card

USPTA and Catamaran have made an agreement to offer a prescription drug discount card to USPTA members. It can save you up to 85 percent on your prescription costs (average savings are 35 percent, with most savings coming from generic medications). As a bonus, with every purchase, $1 is donated to the USPTA Foundation and $.50 is donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
