USPTA show, “Playing in the Front Court,” premieres on the Tennis Channel

-- Show will air Nov. 24 at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time --

"On Court with USPTA" is the cable TV show produced by the United States Professional Tennis Association. In this episode USPTA Master Professional Feisal Hassan covers everything viewers need to know about playing in the front court.

Playing well in the front court includes understanding volley technique, recognizing different heights and angles at which to hit the ball, and recovering in time for the next shot. In this show Hassan explains tactics and technique for low and high volleys, and demonstrates drills to perfect these shots. In addition, he stresses the importance of footwork and recovery through drills that show viewers how to cover the front court faster and more efficiently.

Hassan is the general manager and tennis director at the Midlothian Tennis Club in Midlothian, Va. He is a USPTA Master Professional, who also holds USPTA specialist degrees in Competitive Player Development, Facility Management and Little Tennis. In addition, he co-chairs the USPTA National Education and College Curriculum committees. Hassan is a USTA Recreational Coach and QuickStart trainer and a member of the National Cardio Tennis Speakers Team. He was also the director of coaches' education and Junior Davis Cup team coach for Tennis Zimbabwe. Hassan was named one of Tennis Industry magazine's prestigious "40 Under 40" for being one of the top 40 people under 40 years old who have had and will continue to have a strong influence in the sport. In 2011, he was named USPTA's Alex Gordon Professional of the Year, and also named to the USPTA Mid-Atlantic Hall of Fame inaugural class of 2012. He is a member of the HEAD Penn Racquet Sports National Advisory Board and National Speaker's Bureau.

The USPTA became the first tennis-teaching organization ever to produce and air an educational television series on playing and teaching tennis on the Tennis Channel in 2003. Since then, more than 84 shows have been produced that provide instruction about technique, strategy and other facets of the game. All production is done in-house, which includes everything from planning and scripting, to shooting and editing, to graphics and DVD duplication. All episodes of "On Court" are now in high-definition.

Don't miss out on this episode. Tune in to the Tennis Channel on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time to see the show. Also, all episodes of "On Court with USPTA" and more than 100 other USPTA-produced DVD titles are available for purchase online at www.usprotennisshop.com.
