Two Weeks’ Notice

On Wednesday, May 31, the Houston office of the USPTA World Headquarters will close its doors for good as part of the transition to the new home in Lake Nona. And with it, several members of the USPTA staff will be leaving the USPTA family -- Kathy Buchanan, Vicky Tristan, Julie Myers, Melony DeLoach, Kimberly Forrester, Matt Stotts, Aileen Nacpil and Alyssa Burnside. We've enjoyed the time we've been with USPTA, working for you, and getting to know a lot of you. As American sportscaster Ernie Harwell said, "It's time to say goodbye, but I think goodbyes are sad and I'd much rather say hello. Hello to a new adventure."

The USPTA Clay Court Championships will be played this week at the Sanchez-Casal Academy in Florida. Follow the results at

Registration for the $5,000 USPTA Grass Court Championships is open. The tournament will be played at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. Click here for more information or to register.

San Diego Annual Tennis Fest supports ThanksUSA Scholarship Program

May 21 at the Balboa Tennis Club marks the 6th year that the San Diego annual Tennis Fest will partner with Tennis Thanks the Troops to raise money through a silent auction and donations for educational scholarships to San Diego-based military families.

On-court clinics will be provided by more than 60 volunteer USPTA teaching pros under the direction of USPTA San Diego ED Don Gomsi.

Geoff Griffin, USPTA Professional and tennis director at Balboa Tennis Club, leads the effort with Steve Kappes, USPTA Professional and retired naval officer.  As San Diego District Tennis Director of Military Outreach, Steve shared their passion for giving back, "We are proud to have supported ThanksUSA and Tennis Thanks the Troops through our annual Tennis Fest, which has resulted in six $3,000 educational scholarships being awarded to very deserving members of San Diego military families.  We encourage other tennis groups to join us in this very worthwhile program!"

Please register your 2017 Tennis Thanks the Troops event today!
