"On Court with USPTA" is the cable TV show produced by the United States Professional Tennis Association. In this episode USPTA Master Professional Jorge Capestany reveals several tactical secrets that can be utilized when playing a doubles match.
Many club-level doubles teams often lose matches because they fail to implement specific tactics that greatly increase their chances of victory. In this show Capestany touches on shot selection, shot placement, doubles communication and formation, and demonstrates how viewers and their doubles partners can use these tips to win matches.
Capestany graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1984, and is USTA Sports Science level 1-certified. In nearly 30 years in the industry, Capestany has created and directed lesson programs that have generated more than $1 million in annual revenue. He is a six-time Michigan Pro of the Year and a two-time Midwest Pro of the Year. Capestany has coached hundreds of ranked juniors including three national champions. He is also a USTA Recreational Coaches Workshop national trainer, a QuickStart national trainer and a member of the national Cardio Tennis speakers' team for the TIA. He is the founder of www.tennisdrills.tv - a video-based website that shows more than 800 videos of tennis drills and tips.
The USPTA became the first tennis-teaching organization ever to produce and air an educational television series on playing and teaching tennis on the Tennis Channel in 2003. Since then, more than 83 shows have been produced that provide instruction about technique, strategy and other facets of the game. All production is done in-house, which includes everything from planning and scripting, to shooting and editing, to graphics and DVD duplication. All episodes of "On Court" are now in high-definition.
